Humble Beginnings
The Women’s Development Council, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1983 by a small but determined group of Northern Colorado businesswomen.
Seeing a need in the community for better opportunities for women to develop their professional skills, they began by providing occasional educational and motivational seminars to encourage personal and professional growth.
These seminars were so popular and well attended that they eventually lead to the formation of separate networking group so that businesswomen could meet, learn and share new ideas on a more frequent and personal basis.
30 years later, we now have six growing chapters- with requests for even more! - each with their own flavor and personality, so that you can find what fits you best. Our membership stands strong at over 250 women and men, and when you join one, you join us all!
So, from humble beginnings, to inspiring leadership, the WDC is truly an organization that started small yet changed the lives of many. We’re proud to be part of the Northern Colorado business community for 30 years and counting!
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Women’s Development Council is to develop, organize, and promote activities that educate, encourage, support, and enhance the development of women in business.
