WHAT IS AN AMBASSADOR, AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Ambassadors actively promote the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce in the business community by referring prospective members to the Chamber and working with new Chamber members to connect them to the organization and existing members to help them stay involved.
Ambassadors have a high-visibility role within the Chamber, serving as hosts at Chamber events and activities. They greet and introduce new members and guests to Chamber members, answer questions about membership and participation, and represent the Chamber by attending business celebrations, mixers, and other Chamber events.
Ambassadors are liaisons to new members, who make follow-up contact within the first few months after joining the Carbon Valley Chamber to maximize a positive Chamber experience. Ambassadors orient new members about ways in which to become connected and promote their respective businesses.
The Ambassador committee is open to all Chamber members. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 am, RE/Max Momentum, Frederick. For more information contact the Chamber office at info@carbonvalleychamber.com or 303.833.5933.
Purpose: Is to carry out an advocacy program on behalf of the Chamber membership and business community within the governmental and political arena, foster effective working relationships with elected and appointed officals at all levels of government, and facilitate the education of membeship on local, state and federal issues that impact the businesses of the Carbon Valley.

Our “Why” (About Us)
The Education Committee of the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce (CVEC) aims to develop and foster ideas that will bring local businesses and the education community together. CVEC supports the diverse education needs in the Carbon Valley area and promotes meaningful relationships between the business and education communities. This includes developing and distributing scholarships, working with local businesses to created work-based learning opportunities, and connecting students and schools with the careers of tomorrow.
CVEC also provides other monetary support or sponsorships to partnering organizations as the committee deems fi t, based on alignment with the committee’s objectives. To that end, the committee welcomes input and ideas from the community on how it can evolve to support these objectives.

Student Scholarships
The committee oversees all aspects of the annual scholarships awarded, including publicizing the scholarships, determining the recipients, and acknowledging recipients at the May Chamber Luncheon. Scholarships are funded by Chamber fundraising efforts and community partner donors.

Work-based Learning
CVEC strives to connect students with work-based learning opportunities – within its own programs and through community partnerships.
Summer Internships
Each year, our committee identifies a handful of members to host summer interns. Students receive 30-45 hours of work experience and academic credit, while hosts receive $500 to cover expenses. An agreement is created between the student, the business, and St. Vrain Valley Schools.

Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) // Work Experience
Work Experience (an internship program) helps participants gain marketable job skills. As an organization, you have an incredible opportunity to motivate individuals and cultivate tomorrow’s skilled, productive workforce.
Program Benefits include:
- Participants matched to specific industry needs
- Participants that have undergone assessment and job readiness training
- Ongoing administrative support and guidance to ensure a successful experience
- Job accommodation consulting and supportive services
- ESWC provides workers’ compensation for the participant
The duration of duties are mutually determined to ensure a cohesive match between all groups. As part of the program, a three-party agreement outlines the training plan. Additional requirements, include a business license with a Federal Tax I.D. Number, monthly time sheets, periodic participant evaluation, and a signed agreement. The participant cannot displace a regular employee.
