Chainsaws and Chuckwagons July 18-21
Food trucks, comedy, live music and chainsaw woodcarving competition buzz into Downtown FrederickFREDERICK, Colorado (July 12, 2018) – The Town of Frederick will host Chainsaws and Chuckwagons Wednesday July 18 through Saturday July 21 on Main Street in Downtown Frederick. This event will showcase carvers from across the country transforming logs into amazing pieces of art, food truck ‘chuckwagons’, comedy and live music. Chainsaws and Chuckles on Friday night, will feature Buttercup, the clown, comedian and magician, Eddie Goldstein and Front deRanged Improv Comedy Troupe.
The carving begins Wednesday July 18 with ten skilled carvers turning tree trunks into beautiful pieces of art. Thursday through Saturday will feature live entertainment, a beer garden and food trucks to enjoy while taking in the wood carvings. On Friday evening 4 -8 p.m., visitors can enjoy an interactive comedy, magic and improv performances. Thursday and Saturday at 6 p.m., visitors will get a visual treat with two quick carve auctions that will take place in Crist Park. Carvers have one hour to create a smaller carving that is then auctioned off on the spot. Those interested in being the highest bidder and purchasing a one-of-a-kind art piece should bring cash or checks. On Saturday July 21, the Town of Frederick will be hosting a Chainsaw Carving Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring free kid’s activities, a mobile ropes course, live music, a beer garden. Festival attendees will pick the winner of the competition by voting for their favorite carving between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
