What was the first Chamber event you attended? Education Committee
Why did you choose to join the Carbon Valley Chamber? To help businesses and organizations to connect with schools, teachers and students.
How has being a member of the Chamber benefitted you and/or your organization? Carbon Valley Chamber is supportive of all the community and I have appreciated meeting all the amazing members who want to be part of helping our schools.
What Chamber event do you look forward to attending each year? Golf Tournament!
Is there a project your organization is currently working on that you are excited about? Crayons to Calculators - the program to distribute backpacks and school supply kits to students with a financial need. We need volunteers to help sort and distribute the kits to all the schools so students have them when they start the academic year. It's wonderful to see the community come together to support this effort.
How has your organization adapted to support your community and/or clients during the pandemic? We continued to work with the community and hold events virtually during pandemic to ensure we supported our schools, teachers and students. We are fortunate now events are in person, so we recognized our teachers in April at the Tribute to Teachers, volunteers can now help with Crayons to Calculators and the community can participate in the Sunrise Stampede in August. We found ways to keep the community connected to schools at events through the Foundation.
What is something you and/or your organization have accomplished this year that you are most proud of? We were able to honor our teachers at the annual Tribute to Teachers event in April. We love to recognize our teachers who do so much for our students.
What are some ways you hope you and your organization can continue to support your community and/or clients? We are dedicated to "Student Success and Teacher Excellence." We want to continue to work with our community and business partners to help support our schools, teachers and students.
